What is Yajur Veda?

Yajna - Knowledge of rituals of worship and rituals, the mantras by which Yajna works are performed are called Mantras of Yajurveda. TheYajurveda (Sanskrit: यजुर्वेद,yajurveda, from yajus meaning "worship, which means - worship, fellowship and charity of the Gods.


There is ritual in the Yajurveda, therefore, all their activities and movements are worshiped by the gods, the association of art and skill, etc., it has been called Yajah.

In the Yajurveda, inspiration has been given to bring life into action, all Yagyas should be performed with a scientifically pure process.


The Yajurveda is broadly grouped into two – the "black" or "dark" (Krishna) Yajurveda and the "white" or "bright" (Shukla) Yajurveda. The term "black" implies "the un-arranged, unclear, motley collection" of verses in Yajurveda, in contrast to the "white" which implies the "well arranged, clear" Yajurveda
