यज्ञ परमात्मा है । यज्ञ में देव ( परमात्मा ) की सङ्कति एवं आराधना होती है । देवपूजन का अर्थ द्रव्य , समय एवं स्वयं ( पूजक की आत्मा ) का दान ( उपयोग ) होता है । इसीलिए पुराणों में ' यज्ञ ' भगवान् का एक अवतार भी स्वीकार किया गया है । अत : ' यज्ञ ' का अर्थ परमात्मा है । परमात्मा का ही विस्तार ब्रह्माण्ड है । सम्पूर्ण यज्ञ साधन परमात्मा में ही कल्पित हैं । यही " यज्ञेन यज्ञमयजन्त देवाः " अथवा " ब्रह्मार्पणं " " ब्रह्महविः " का अर्थ है । परमात्मा की आराधना ही मनुष्य को इष्ट है ।
